Kathleen and I were pleasantly surprised Wednesday morning last week to receive a call–a Skype video call, no less–to my cell phone from Gary, our Los Islotes project manager. Gary was making the video call from his new office on site at Los Islotes.
That is to say: We now have reliable internet access at Los Islotes.
This is a big deal for us, a benchmark event. This is the first time we have had internet access on the property, and the first time Gary has had internet anywhere in the area that could support a video call. Until now, Gary has had to return to his home, a half-hour from the property, to check emails or make a Skype call. And the internet Gary has had at his home has never been reliable. Furthermore, it cost three times as much as the internet we now have installed at Los Islotes.
As you can imagine, this has been a key priority for us. We’ve been researching options for two years. Finally, we’ve found an outfit in Panama City, a satellite internet provider, able to provide the level of service we require for a reasonable cost. Our new internet provider installed the equipment on site at Los Islotes free. You can’t beat that. The monthly cost is only $77 (compared with the $247 Gary had been paying for the satellite service he had been using at his home).
Of course, this new option for internet on site at Los Islotes does not change our long-term plan to install fiber optics for high-speed internet throughout the property. It is, though, an immediately available option for internet access for our lot owners.
Overall, Kathleen and I are very excited about the progress taking place at Los Islotes. Last week, we received delivery of our new concrete batch plant, which will provide much more efficient and reliable concrete production to support our fast-expanding construction efforts.
Meantime, our sales team has been working overtime to follow up with the more than 200 inquiries we’ve received since the launch of our casitas, the new turn-key option at Los Islotes. And their efforts are paying off. Of the five casitas being offered, four have been reserved. If you’re interested in more information on these little houses, get in touch here.
Lastly, we have had several people sign up for the upcoming “Discover Los Islotes Weekend” tour scheduled for Friday, Jan.23, through Sunday, Jan. 25. However, we still have few spots available. You can go here for the Discover Los Islotes Weekend itinerary.
If you are truly interested in purchasing a lot in Los Islotes, then this a perfect opportunity to see the property in person so that you can gather some intel and make an informed decision.
The cost of the tour is US$350, US$475 per couple per person. This includes transportation, accommodation for three nights, all meals, activities, and taxes. Note that should you choose to invest in Los Islotes, the cost of the tour will be deducted from your purchase price.
Once again if you are interested in participating in the upcoming program, our first group site visit for 2015, I encourage you to reserve your spot today. We will keep this a very small group.
Get in touch with my Marketing Assistant Omar Best at firstname.lastname@example.org to make your reservation.
I´ll be in touch again soon and look forward to seeing you in January.
Meantime, I hope you’re having a wonderful Christmas week, wherever in the world you’re celebrating. Project Manager Gary Mosely and his wife Karen helped the kids in schools nearby Los Islotes get in the Christmas spirit by delivering homemade holiday cupcakes earlier this month. By all reports, the cupcakes were a big hit. Take a look below.
