Things here at Los Islotes are really heating up as we close out 2014, and we intend to continue this momentum into the New Year.
This week, for example, we have coordinated delivery of the new concrete batch plant we’ve invested in, which is on its way as I write to the Los Islotes property. This is another milestone for us.
These past couple of years as we’ve been undertaking the infrastructure work at Los Islotes in earnest, we’ve had to rely on the delivery of concrete from a mixing plant in Santiago, which is about an hour away from the property. We recognized early on that this method of delivery was not sustainable, especially as construction activity onsite continues to increase. After researching options, we decided to invest in a concrete batch plant of our own, which will provide much more efficient and reliable concrete production to support our fast-expanding construction efforts. It will also mean we’ll be able to control the quality of the concrete we produce, which, in this part of the world, is a big deal.
Specifically, this plant will be instrumental in the construction of the two-bedroom casitas we’re preparing to build in the Mango Village section of the property. We announced this new turn-key option at Los Islotes in November and plan to break ground on the casitas community early next year.
We´ve enjoyed a tremendous surge in interest since the announcement of the casitas and news of our visit with Panama´s President Varela. Our sales team, led by Louis O´Connor, has been working hard to keep up with inquiries. Their efforts are paying off. In the past four weeks alone, six lots have been sold and another six lots have been reserved.
Further, Louis, in our sales meeting this week, explained that many of the individuals he is speaking with regarding Los Islotes want to know when they can visit the property firsthand. To that end, Kathleen and I would like to invite you to come see Los Islotes for yourself in January.
January is the best time to visit Panama. Everything is green, lush, and blooming, thanks to the recent rains. In addition, by January, Los Islotes Project Manager Gary Moseley plans to have 90% of all of the lots cleared so that you will be able to really take in views from specific lots that interest you. Gary has hired 11 additional locals armed with machetes for day labor, solely for the purpose of clearing the entire property for viewing. Gary sent a photo of his crew:
During your visit in January, you will be able to learn more about the region surrounding Los Islotes and experience the pleasures of this extraordinary property firsthand.
Here is what you need to know about this upcoming “Discover Los Islotes Weekend” tour:
The tour is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 23, through Sunday, Jan. 25.
Tour participants will stay overnight Friday at Panama City’s Hilton Garden Inn. Saturday around noon, everyone will meet in the lobby of the hotel to depart for Santiago. In Santiago we will check in to the comfortable Mykonos Hotel, have dinner, and relax.
Sunday morning, we will have breakfast together at the Mykonos, then head for Los Islotes to tour the property. Around noon, after visiting both beaches and individual lots in key spots across the property, we will have lunch at the Los Islotes Rancho. After our full day on site, we will return to Mykonos in time for dinner.
Monday morning, we’ll meet in the lobby of the Mykonos for the return to Panama City. When we arrive in Panama City around noon, Kathleen and I will host a lunch for tour attendees at Caffee Pomodoro, one of the best Italian restaurants in the city.
The cost of the tour is US$350 per person, US$475 per couple. This includes transportation, accommodation for three nights, all meals, activities, and taxes. Note that, should you choose to invest in Los Islotes, the cost of the tour will be deducted from your purchase price.
As you know, I’m sure, I always recommend getting out there on the ground to see what you are buying firsthand before making any overseas property purchase. Los Islotes is my project, but it is no different.
If you are truly interested in purchasing a lot in Los Islotes, then this is a perfect opportunity to see the property in person so that you can gather some intel and make an informed decision.
If you are interested in participating in the upcoming program, our first group site visit for 2015, I encourage you to reserve your spot today. We will keep this a very small group.
